My name Is Joey, I am a husband to my beautiful wife Tonya, a Dad to Hailey and Carter, and a Christ follower. Believe it or not I am a local of Wilmington, NC. This is where I was born, where I climbed my first tree, went to my first school dance, had a crazy middle school crush on my now wife (#win), marched in the drumline at Michael Jordan’s Alma Mater,  and served as a Student and College Pastor. I grew up spending summers on the beach of Topsail Island and watching this community grow and flourish through the years. 

Over the last ten years I have been blessed with the opportunity to speak, teach and create incredible environments for thousands of teenagers and college students to see, hear and experience who God is. I love speaking and teaching God’s Word in a way that challenges the creative process and isn’t just relevant, but applicable and life changing

Serving on the lead team at Renovation Church has been an amazing opportunity to start a new journey.  As the Family Pastor at Renovation, I oversee all the weekly dynamics of children ages birth thru high school.  Creating great environments like RenoCity, Camp Renovate and R*Squads to serve the Hampstead and Topsail Community is creatively challenging and exciting.  Along with the weekly dynamics, I also work to strengthen the partnership between the family and the church. 

If you want to grab a bite to eat, let’s go to Buffalo Wild Wings (they know me there). If you’re in desperate need of a drummer to fill in at a gig, I might be able to dust off the sticks and hang for a few tunes. Or we can go camping and spend some time out in the woods just reflecting on how incredible it is to be in the world God created.
